RANIXALIDAE - South Indian Herpetofauna

These frogs are called Leaping frogs. They are commonly known as ‘Leaping frog’. This genus is restricted to Western Ghats. All congeners are found only in these hill forests. But these frogs are commonly encountered and are not rare. Several hill ranges have very high densities of this genus, especially in the mid-elevation level (600m – 1000m). Ten species are known.
