Micrixalus fuscus
Micrixalus BOULENGER, 1882
These frogs are commonly called ‘Torrent frogs’. This is because, these frogs are found only in the fast-flowing streams and hill torrents in the evergreen forest clad hills of Western Ghats. This family is restricted only to Western Ghats. This is also one of the most species-rich taxa, with not less than12 species.
